About this Policy. Honest pricing is fundamental to a trustworthy marketplace. This Pricing Policy describes how prices are set and displayed on Upmos, the rules sellers must follow when advertising sale or comparison prices, how we handle pricing errors and discounts, and how disputes are resolved. It works alongside the Price Integrity Policy (which governs seller-side enforcement) and the Terms of Use.

In Plain English (Non-Binding Summary)

What you can expect. Prices shown on a listing are the offer at that moment. Strike-through and “compare-at” prices must be truthful and based on real recent sales. Promo codes and Go member benefits have clear stack rules. Genuine pricing errors are not binding sales and may be corrected; honest mistakes are resolved by refund or cancellation rather than forcing the buyer to absorb the cost.

This plain-language box is provided for accessibility and readability only. It is not a substitute for the full Policy below, which controls in case of any conflict.

1. Scope and Definitions

This Policy applies to product listings, advertising, marketing emails, and any other place Upmos or sellers communicate prices on the marketplace. Where this Policy conflicts with a seller’s own marketing materials, this Policy controls for purposes of the Upmos platform.

  • Listing Price — the price shown to buyers at checkout for a single unit, excluding shipping, taxes, and gift-wrap unless explicitly stated.
  • Reference Price — a comparison price (e.g., “Was $50”) shown next to the Listing Price to indicate a discount.
  • Promo Code — a redemption code applied at checkout to adjust the Listing Price.
  • Member Benefits — pricing advantages tied to Go or All Access membership.

2. How Prices Are Displayed

Each listing shows the Listing Price in the buyer’s local currency where supported. Shipping, estimated taxes (where calculated upfront under Marketplace Facilitator rules), and applicable fees are itemized at checkout. We do not use deceptive “drip pricing”: any mandatory fee that a buyer cannot avoid is disclosed before the order summary.

3. Reference (Strike-through) Prices

Sellers may show a strike-through Reference Price only if it meets all of the following:

  • Recent. The Reference Price was the seller’s offer price for the same item, in the same configuration, within the last 90 days, and was available for purchase at that price for at least 14 of those days (the FTC Substantiation Standard).
  • Truthful. The Reference Price was not artificially inflated solely to make a discount look larger.
  • Sourced. If the Reference Price is a Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP), it must be the price the manufacturer publicly lists for the item.

Violation of these rules can result in listing removal, monetary refunds to affected buyers, and account action under the Price Integrity Policy.

4. Promo Codes, Coupons & Sitewide Discounts

  • Promo codes apply only to eligible items; eligibility is shown at checkout.
  • Unless explicitly marked as stackable, only one promo code may be applied per order.
  • Member benefits (free shipping, loyalty-point boosts, Double Up Fridays) stack with promo codes unless the promo code’s terms exclude them.
  • Discounts apply pre-tax. Tax is calculated on the post-discount Listing Price where law allows.
  • Promo codes have an expiration date and are void where prohibited.

5. Flash Sales and Time-Limited Offers

Flash sales must follow the Flash Sale & Promotions Policy. Countdown timers must reflect the actual offer expiry; we do not allow “perpetual” countdowns that reset after each page view. Buyers who add a flash-sale item to cart but check out after expiry are charged at the post-expiry Listing Price unless cart-level price-hold is enabled and disclosed.

6. Pricing Errors

Despite our checks, prices may occasionally be wrong because of a feed error, a typo, or a currency-conversion glitch. If a Listing Price is materially incorrect (off by a typing margin that no reasonable buyer would consider genuine), the following applies:

  • Before order processing. The seller (or Upmos) may cancel the order before fulfillment and refund any amount paid in full.
  • After fulfillment. If we shipped the item before catching the error, we will not retroactively charge you the higher price. Our remedy is to absorb the loss and update the listing.
  • Mass exploitation. Where evidence shows organized exploitation of an obvious pricing error (e.g., a bot mass-buying), we reserve the right to cancel all such orders.

Honest pricing-error claims are not breach of contract; we resolve them through cancellation or refund, never by charging the buyer extra after the fact.

7. Price Matching

Upmos does not currently offer post-purchase price matching against external retailers. Where a seller offers their own price-match guarantee, the seller’s terms control. If a Listing Price drops within 7 days of your purchase, Go members may be eligible for a one-time price-adjustment credit at our discretion; request it through refunds@upmos.com with your order ID.

8. Currency & Foreign-Exchange

Where currency conversion is shown for buyer convenience, the final charge currency and rate is set by the payment processor at the time of authorization. Refunds are issued in the original charge currency; FX gain or loss between purchase and refund is not reimbursed by Upmos.

9. Bait-and-Switch Prohibited

Sellers must not advertise an item at one price and then attempt to sell a different item at a higher price, refuse to honor a clearly stated Listing Price for a non-erroneous reason, or condition the advertised price on a separate purchase. Violations are grounds for immediate account suspension and full refund to affected buyers.

10. Buyer Remedies

If you believe a price was displayed misleadingly or that you were charged differently from the Listing Price you saw, contact disputes@upmos.com with your order ID and screenshot. We acknowledge within 2 business days and resolve within 14 days. Unresolved disputes follow the dispute-resolution path in our Terms of Use.
