About this Community Guidelines. These Guidelines set the behavioral standards for everyone who participates on Upmos — buyers, sellers, reviewers, message senders, and visitors — and explain how violations are handled.

In Plain English (Non-Binding Summary)

Be honest, be respectful, don’t manipulate. Reviews must reflect your real experience. Messages must be professional. You can’t harass, discriminate, threaten, or deceive other users. Violating these Guidelines can result in warnings, suspension, or a permanent ban — depending on severity.

This plain-language box is provided for accessibility and readability only. It is not a substitute for the full Policy below, which controls in case of any conflict.

1. Scope

These Guidelines apply to all users of the Upmos platform including: registered buyers, registered sellers and their staff, visitors who submit reviews or questions, and anyone who accesses Upmos community features such as ratings, Q&A, direct messaging, or public seller storefronts. These Guidelines supplement — and do not replace — the Terms of Use, Vendor Code of Conduct, and Acceptable Use Policy.

2. Our Community Values

Upmos is built on three pillars: Authenticity (honest listings, honest reviews, honest communication), Respect (every participant is treated with dignity regardless of background), and Accountability (every action on the platform is tied to a real identity and subject to consequences).

3. Respectful Conduct

All users must interact with others in a professional and respectful manner. This includes, but is not limited to: (a) using inclusive, non-discriminatory language; (b) resolving disagreements through Upmos’s dispute process rather than personal confrontation; (c) not contacting other users outside the Upmos platform to pressure, threaten, or intimidate them; (d) respecting seller and buyer privacy — do not share another user’s contact information, address, or personal details publicly.

4. Review & Rating Standards

Reviews must reflect your genuine, firsthand experience with the product or seller. You must not: submit a review for a product you did not purchase on Upmos; submit multiple reviews for the same product under different accounts; offer or accept anything of value (discounts, free products, refunds) in exchange for a positive review; submit a negative review in retaliation for a dispute outcome; use a review to make personal attacks on a seller unrelated to the transaction. Upmos’s Review Integrity Policy governs review investigation and removal.

5. Private Messaging Rules

Upmos’s direct messaging system exists to facilitate transactions. Messages must be: relevant to an order or product inquiry; professional in tone; free from unsolicited marketing, spam, or repetitive contact. Prohibited in messages: requests to complete a transaction outside Upmos; sharing of personal contact information (email, phone, social handles) before an order is placed; threats, harassment, discriminatory language; any attempt to manipulate a buyer’s review or dispute decision.

6. Prohibited Behavior

The following behaviors will result in immediate escalation regardless of account status:

  • Harassment or intimidation of any platform participant
  • Discrimination based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or age
  • Threats of physical harm, property damage, or legal action without factual basis
  • Identity fraud — impersonating another user, seller, or Upmos employee
  • Review manipulation — buying, selling, or trading reviews
  • Account farming — operating multiple accounts to circumvent suspensions or inflate ratings
  • Doxxing — publicly sharing another user’s personal information without consent

7. How to Report

To report a violation: (a) on a listing or review, click "Report" and select the violation type; (b) in a message thread, click the flag icon; (c) for urgent safety concerns, email safety@upmos.com. All reports are reviewed by the Upmos Trust & Safety team within 3 business days. You may report anonymously; however, providing your contact information allows us to follow up with you. False reports are themselves a violation of these Guidelines.

8. Enforcement Ladder

Tier Examples Consequence
Warning First-time minor review guideline violation; single unprofessional message Written warning; content removed
Restriction Repeat minor violations; moderate messaging abuse Feature restriction (e.g., messaging or reviewing suspended) for 30 days
Suspension Review manipulation; identity fraud; sustained harassment Account suspended pending investigation (7–30 days)
Permanent Ban Threats of harm; doxxing; repeat severe violations after reinstatement Permanent account termination; payment network notification if warranted

9. Appeals

Users may appeal enforcement actions within 14 calendar days of notification by emailing appeals@upmos.com. Include your account username, the action taken, and your explanation. Appeals for permanent bans are reviewed by a senior Trust & Safety lead. All appeal decisions are final.
